2018년 11월 29일부터 시작된 인도로 배낭하나 달랑메고 떠난

뿌나의 못다한 인도 여행기를 풀어 놓는다.

청년들의 전유물로만 여겨졌던 배낭여행이
나이들어 주책스럽기도 하지만

콜카타는 테레사수녀님이 여생을 마감한곳이다. 마더테레사하우스는 1953년에서 1997년까지 테레사 수녀님이 봉사하며 기거하셨던 곳으로
수녀님의 유품들을 모아둔 작은 박물관, 수녀님이 사용하셨던 방, 수녀님의 묘가 있는 곳이다.

내가 묵었던 선플라워게스트하우스에서 도보 15분정도의 위치였다. 이곳에는 언제나 많은 가톨릭 신자들의 발걸음이 이어지는 곳이다.

입구에 방문시간 참조하세요. 2018년입니다.

 

입구에는 성모마리아상과 테레사수녀님상이 있다. 모두들 여기에 앉아서 기념촬영을 하더라.

신발도 벗고 들어가야하고, 수녀님 쓰시던 방과 작은 박물관에는 촬영을 할수없었다.

여기가 수녀님방의 입구에 있는 표지판이다. 사진을 찍을 수 없기에 대신 참고하시라.
작은 베드하나에 낡은 책상 하나, 벽에 걸린 십자가가 고작인 2평남짓한 공간이었다.

테레사수녀님은 검은색 수녀복대신 인도에서 가장 미천하고 낮은 계급의 여자들이 입는 흰색 사리를 입고, 현지인들과 동화하기위해 인도로 귀화했다고 한다.

여기가 수녀님의 묘이다. 가톨릭신자들이 수녀님묘에서 무릎꿇고 엎드려 기도하는 모습이 인상적이었다.

수녀님묘 옆에는 작은 예배실로 이용되고 있고, 내가 갔었을때 작은 미사가 열리고 있었다.(뿌나도 옆에서 경건한 맘으로 있었답니다.)

마더테레사하우스에는 전세계에서 몰려온 자원 봉사자들이 숙식하며 봉사의 손길이 지금도 이어지고 있다. 봉사를 하려면 미리 예약을 해야할 정도이라고 한다. 테레사 수녀님의 숭고한 정신을 이어받아 지금도 헌신의 손길이 이어지고 있으니 종교를 떠나서 테레사수녀님은  살아계실때도 돌아가신후에도 성녀로 추앙받을 만하다.

많은 시간을 생각하게 했던 순간이 였답니다. 뿌나가 살짜기 보입니다.

마더테레사하우스 기념품 가게에서 묵주를 구입했다.(얼마나 좋아해 주시던지 뿌듯합니다. 지금도 장모님댁에 한벽면에 걸려 있습니다.) 어머니가 가톨릭신자이어서 작은 선물을 준비했다. 어머니가 좀더 젊으시면 같이 오면 좋아하셨을것 같다.

이 거리의 가게에서 장모님을 생각하며 선물을 준비했네요. ^^ 여행의 선물은 이렇게 초반에 사는 것이 아닌데..뿌나가 어려운 결정을 했답니다.

마더테레사하우스를 나와서 가는길.
콜카타에는 버려진 개들의 천국이랄까 엎드려 자는 개들이 많다.

트램 한번 타보려고 한참기다렸더니 오지도 않고, 그냥 못탔다. 우리나라에서도 사라진 전차라고 할 수 있다. 어디에서나 뛰어타고 내릴수 있는 느리게 움직이는 전차이다.  아시아에서는 유일하게 콜카타에서만 탈 수 있는데 아쉽다. 평소에는 잘만 보이더니 막상 타려니 일요일이라서 그런지 잘 오지를 않는다.(아..얼매나 기다렸는지..ㅜㅜ 옆지기에게 미안...했다능/뿌나는 경험을 시켜 주고 싶었다능...ㅋ)

늦은 점심을 먹기위해 들른 가게이다. 벵갈호텔 식당이다.

비리야니 70Rs(1120원).
수북히 쌓인 비리야니 안에는 감자와 향신료에 절인 쇠고기덩어리가 숨어 있었다. 부드럽고 먹기 좋은 쌀요리이다.

비프파야 60Rs(960원), 커다란 쇠고기 덩어리가 든 스튜같은 음식이다. 향신료향이 강하나 먹을만 했다. 쇠고기 덩이를 여러개 먹었더니 배가 불렀다.

탱자즙을 뿌린 야채샐러드 20Rs(320원).
상큼하게 곁들여 먹기 좋았다.

식사후엔 짜이 한잔. 여기 짜이 맛이 대박이었다. 짜이 가게마다 묘하게 맛이 다르다.
큰잔에 10Rs(160원)이다.

(조금씩 인도 짜이 맛에 빠져드는 옆지기...뿌나의 계획(?)은 짜이의 맛을 느껴 인도가 생각나는 그래서 지금도 간혹 옆지기랑함께 짜이를 집에서 만들어 먹는 중 ^^:: 작전 성공이죠...ㅋㅋ - 벗님들~! 기억하삼...)

 
작은 잔에 5Rs가 기본이던데 덕 본 느낌이다. 큰잔은 작은 잔 4잔정도 나오더라.(이렇게 알뜰하게 ....^^;;;)

맛나게 먹고 오늘 저녁에는 바라나시로 가는 기차를 탄다. 인도 기차를 처음 타는데 이동시간이 13시간이라서 3A침대칸으로 예약했다. 말로만 듣던 침대칸 첫 도전!
과연 제대로 잘수 있을지 걱정반 기대반!!
삶과 죽음이 공존하는 바라나시는 어떤모습을 보여줄지 기대된다.

2018.12.02 (Sun) Kolkata, Temperature 17/27°C, (1Rs = 16 won)

*** FYI, Puna's mother-in-law is a Catholic.


Kolkata is where Mother Teresa ended the rest of her life. Mother Teresa House was a place where Mother Teresa lived in service from 1953 to 1997
It is a small museum where the relics of the nun are collected, the room used by the nun, and the place where the nun's tomb is located.


It was a 15-minute walk from the Sunflower Guest House where I stayed. This is a place where many Catholics always follow.


Please refer to the visit time at the entrance. It's 2018.




At the entrance are the statue of Mary and Mother Teresa. Everyone sits here and takes a commemorative photo.


I had to take off my shoes, and I couldn't film in the room where the nun used and the small museum.

It was a small bed, an old desk, and a cross on the wall.


Mother Teresa is said to have been naturalized in India to assimilate with the locals, wearing white saris worn by the lowest and lowest class women in India instead of black nun uniforms.




This is the grave of a nun. It was impressive to see Catholics kneeling down and praying at the nun's grave.


Next to the nun's grave is being used as a small chapel, and a small mass was being held when I went.(Bunah was also next to him with a reverent heart.)


At Mother Teresa House, volunteers from all over the world stay and eat, and volunteer work continues. It is said that you have to make a reservation in advance to volunteer. Regardless of religion, Mother Teresa deserves to be revered as a saint even when she is alive and after her death, as the hand of devotion continues to inherit Mother Teresa's noble spirit.



It was a moment that made me think a lot of time. [Voiceover] You can see the puna.
I bought rosary at Mother Teresa House souvenir shop. (I'm proud of how much you like it.). I'm still hanging at my mother-in-law's house.) My mother is a Catholic, so I prepared a small gift. If my mother was younger, she would have liked it if she came with me.



The store on this street prepared a gift for your mother-in-law. ^^ The gift of travel is not to buy early like this..Buna made a difficult decision.

In Kolkata, there are many dogs sleeping on their stomachs, such as a paradise for abandoned dogs.


I waited a long time to ride the tram, but it didn't come, and I just couldn't. It can be said that it is a tram that has disappeared in Korea. It is a slow-moving tram that can run and get off anywhere. It's a shame that you can only ride it in Kolkata in Asia. Usually, I only looked good, but when I got on, I didn't come well because it was Sunday..I've been waiting for you..I was sorry to my sidekick. I wanted to give him an experience...k)



It's a store I stopped by to have a late lunch. It is a restaurant at the Bengal Hotel.


Biriyani 70 Rs (1,120 won).
Inside the huge pile of biriyani, there were chunks of beef pickled in potatoes and spices. It is a soft and easy-to-eat rice dish.



Beef paya 60Rs (960 won), a stew-like dish with a large chunk of beef. The scent of the spices was strong, but it was edible. I was full because I ate several pieces of beef.



Vegetable salad with tangja juice is 20Rs (320 won).
It was good to eat it fresh.


A glass of chai after dinner. The jjai here was amazing. Each Jjai store tastes strangely different.
It's 10 Rs (160 won) for a large glass.

(Side dishes that make you fall in love with Indian food)...Buna's plan(?) is that I feel the taste of chai, so I think of India, so I'm still making chai at home with my sidekick sometimes ^^:: It's a successful operation...LOL - Friends! Remember...)


5Rs for a small glass is basic, so I feel like I benefited from it. There were about four small glasses in a large glass...^^;;;)


Enjoy your meal and take the train to Varanasi this evening. It's my first time taking an Indian train, and the travel time is 13 hours, so I made a reservation in the 3A bed. It's the first time I've heard about it!
I'm half worried and half excited about whether I'll be able to sleep properly!!
I'm looking forward to seeing what Varanasi, where life and death coexist, will look like.
